The White Russian, quite possibly mankind's best discovery. It's simple yet elegant. And what better spokesman to have for a drink than The Big Lebowksi, better known as the Dude, his Dudeness or El Duderino, if you're not into the whole brevity thing. The White Russian, aka the Caucasian (in the parlance of our times), is simple to make, all you need are equal parts Vodka, Kahlua and cream. However, it's common to substitute milk or half and half in for the cream. My favourite variation is to sub in Bailey's Irish Cream instead of dairy cream. It packs a punch this way but it hurts so good and goes down incredibly smooth.
Now to make a good White Russian it's imperative to use plenty of ice (seriously, use lots of ice), and also to pour the ingredients in order of lowest viscosity to highest (thinnest liquid first; thickest liquid last).
Fill a highball glass near to the brim with ice;
1 ounce of vodka;
1 ounce of Kahlua;
1 ounce of Cream;
Stir and Enjoy!

The dude abides.
