Introduction: The Decemberists - Long Live The King
This wonderful band is comprised of 6 musicians:
- Colin Meloy - Lead vocals
- Chris Funk - Guitar
- Jenny Conlee - Organ
- Nate Query - Bass Guitar
- John Moen - Percussion
- Sara Watkins - Violin
The album opens with "Don't Carry It All", an upbeat track that will remind you of Tom Petty's "You Don't Know How It Feels". This song is a wonderful sample of the quality and style of The Decemberists.
The band is driven by unique vocals and folksy musical accompaniment. This music is great for relaxing or for listening to at work.
Highlights: The Decemberists - Long Live The King
Rox In the Box - A beauty jam that really shows off the bands vocal depth.
Down By The Water - Reminds me of REM. Great harmonica throughout.
This Is Why We Fight - Radio worthy track that rocks a little harder than the rest of the album.
My favorite track from the new album is undoubtedly "January Hymn". It is a truly beautiful acoustic guitar song : )
